Spring Flowers

Spring Flowers

My featurDaffodils and PansiesTulipsed image is a watercolor I did a few years ago of roses. I can’t wait until all the flowers bloom so I can do more watercolors. That summer I did the hydrangeas you see on my other pages and the daffodils and pansy watercolor as well as the tulip watercolor.

Spring Flowers 2016!

This weekend I spent a lot of time outside doing yard work and cleaning out flower beds. Mama DuckmamaDuck_4687 wasn’t happy with me trying to peek at the eggs. She sent me scurrying into the house and waited til I closed the door. I have a duck with attitude. She looked like she had her wing on her hip and was saying this is my yard. I didn’t get a picture of her in that pose as she was hissing and I was moving away quickly. Later I got this photo and I was actually surprised at how small she is. I am hoping to get some great pictures of the ducklings growing up, that is if Mama Duck lets me in the yard. This is going to be an interesting spring!

I took some time to do a little sketching and pencil work with my tulips and got some great photos too. The colors this year are so vibrant. I am not sure what the little blue flowers are but they were around my fountain area and were so dainty I just had to take pictures and play with sketching them.  I used my new Apple iPad Pro to sketch the flowers. I love its versatility. The snow didn’t seem to hurt the flowers at all.  I hope you enjoy.

I reside in Northeast Ohio after traveling from coast to coast and living in both rural and metropolitan areas from Los Angeles to New York and of course the Midwest. I am a third generation artist and have been painting since the early 1960s. I have always cared deeply about animals, both domestic and wild, and the preservation of endangered species, has always been a concern as well. Most recently, I was involved in animal rescue work, finding homes for over 11,000 dogs and cats over the previous 12 years. It's only natural then, that I am drawn to animals and nature for my art subjects. I have also explored the metaphysical including creative imagination, Reiki, crystal healing, tai chi, feng shui and yoga and feel they add depth to my art as well. By creating an emotional connection for the viewer I hope my artwork will create concern and compassion for our natural world and its wild inhabitants, and help stimulate conservation efforts. My love of historic buildings and their conservation led me to doing the house portraits and my architectural works

Love the tulips, especially the second picture when they show several stages of the blossom. Also love the duck story. Looking forward to more of her!
